Resource for Growing in Grace (part 2)

Okay, everyone, here’s part two of my favorite resources for “growing in grace.” Last time I gave some of my favorite resources (mainly websites) for girls, but this time it’s a lot more general.

Without much further introduction, here are some of my favorite websites and ministries:

Desiring God

Anyone who’s been around my blog for more than half a second knows that I love Desiring God. And I truly do… I have spent so much time reading and researching on this site. But the cool thing is, besides presenting articles, Desiring God also has several other, varying ministries that it runs. And I want to share my favorites with you.

Ask Pastor John

Okay, guys, this one is going in my top five. This is a super informative, super God-honoring, fairly short podcast where “Pastor John” (a.k.a. John Piper) answers all sorts of questions. The questions range from the sovereignty of God to election to modesty to Grape Nuts… Truly, though, there are so many amazing questions that he answers, and I have learned so much. This has allowed me to (virtually) sit at the feet of a wise man and learn a whole bunch. Yes, test what you hear–but I’ve found this stuff to be pretty solid. So, please, take a moment to check it out. This is a wonderful way to grow in your faith.

Solid Joys Devotional

I get this devotional sent to my email each morning. They are short, profound, biblical, and definitely not shallow. Prepare yourselves, guys–this is not an inspirational tidbit about love and happiness and whatnot. It’s a deep, Scripture-based writing written by a 71-year-old theologian and pastor. This makes it super encouraging–please take a look.

Free Books!

This is a resource I have yet to take advantage of… but it is too good not to mention here. Desiring God offers all their books free for download on their website. It is super generous of them… and we’re not just talking about four or five books here–there are over 120 books for free on here. 120. And these are quality books. So, just throwing that out there. 🙂

Alright, that’s all for today. Let me know if you use any of these resources or look at any of these websites that have meant so much to me! I would love to hear your feedback. This is a shorter post today because my laptop isn’t working, and I also forgot about this post until a friend reminded me earlier this afternoon… so I guess I’ll see y’all next Tuesday! 🙂

  1. Thanks for these wonderful resources, Makenna! I’ve already checked some out and subscribed to the Solid Joy’s Devotional 😉 How fun it would be to get a post every morning!
