Hello everyone! Today I’m going to do something a little different, so buckle your seatbelts.
As Christians, we have been commanded not only to stand fast in what we know, but also to grow in it. As 2 Peter 3:17-18 says,
“You therefore, beloved, knowing this beforehand, be on your guard so that you are not carried away by the error of unprincipled men and fall from your own steadfastness, but grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory, both now and to the day of eternity. Amen.”
We are to grow in not only the grace, but also the knowledge of this great Savior we have. And lets not forget 2 Timothy 2:15, which tells us that we ought to “be diligent to present yourself approved to God as a workman who does not need to be ashamed, accurately handling the word of truth.”
These verses tend to seem a little intimidating, especially those of us who are still teenagers (anybody with me?). So in this post, I’m going to be sharing some of my very favorite tools and resources for growing in grace and studying the Word. These are all mostly websites/online tools, and they’re all (read that again: all) totally free. I use each of them on a weekly, sometimes daily basis, and they have each had specific impacts on my walk with God. But… I’m not going to be able to fit all of this in one post, so be sure to stay tuned for another post coming out later this week.
But for now, without further ado, here are some of the best resources I use to assist my growth in grace.
In this post I’m going to share some great websites for my readers who are young ladies. (When I say “young ladies,” I mean basically anyone between the ages of 12 and 25 who’s a girl.) My top two (as in, the two that I actually read on a regular basis) are:
This one is excellent. It’s a website named after a book (the book is great too), and its run by a bunch of sweet ladies who write articles to help young girls in their attempts to walk in the Truth. I get these articles sent to my email. If you want a place to get started on this lovely blog, here are a few of my favorite posts:
- To Every Girl Who Feels Alone (by Samantha Nieves)
- Releasing the Pressure Valve of Perfectionism (by Samantha Nieves)
- 35 Things I Wish I’d Known in High School (by Erin Davis)
This one is excellent, too. This is a website (they also have a YouTube channel) run by two sisters who encourage girls in modesty, purity, femininity, singleness, and dating, all with the aim of glorifying God and drawing closer to Him. This is a gem of a website. (I’m signed up to these emails, too.) Here are some of my favorite posts/videos to get you going:
- Where do You Find Your Identity as a Women? (video)
- Twenty Nine Years Old and Never Been Kissed (by Bethany Baird)
- Becoming a Woman Who Sees Her Need for Jesus (by Kristen Clark)
- 3 Powerful Truths for Embracing True Beauty and Lasting Worth (by Bethany Baird)
Warning: Some of this stuff is super counter-cultural and “controversial,” like when they say that (gasp) gender is not a personal choice or that we need to find our worth in what God says we are, not what the world says. So… if you don’t want to have your worldly thinking challenged, don’t read this blog.
I think those are enough links for one day, don’t you? But stay tuned, because another list will be coming out later this week. Did you hear that? Later this week. Two posts in one week! This is a special occasion, guys. 🙂
Leave me a comment if you check out any of these websites, tell me what you read and what you thought of it. Please take the time to look into some of this! You won’t regret it. 🙂
Until next time…
