Daughter of the King

I’ve got a song for you today. This is definitely in my top ten when it comes to songs–and I have a lot of favorite songs. Please, please take the time to listen to this song–it’s so beautiful.

We all have insecurities. (I know I do.) Some of us are just really good at hiding it. But each of us has those areas where we just don’t feel safe… whether its how we look, what our personality is like, how smart we are, how popular we are, how much money we have, how talented we are… the list goes on and on and on.

I’m not going to make this a super long post. I’m not going to tell you how to overcome your insecurities. I’m not qualified to preach on that soapbox–I’ve got way too many insecurities of my own. I’m just going to say this: The only hope for those of us who are insecure is to take our eyes off ourselves and find our worth in who Jesus is to us and who we are in Him.

know it sounds cheesy. I know it sounds cliché. I know it’s super hard. That has been my biggest frustration for the past few years of my life. And 9 times out of 10, I still choose to focus on myself. But when I do turn to God, when do fix my eyes on Jesus, when I do remember all the things God’s been teaching me about His love, the insecurities go away and nothing is left but sweet freedom.

Please take a moment to listen to this song–it will bless you. (I still cry sometimes when I listen to it.)

I’ll close with this quote:

“Where does your security lie? Is God your refuge, your hiding place, your stronghold, your shepherd, your counselor, your friend, your redeemer, your savior, your guide? If He is, you don’t need to search any further for security.”

-Elisabeth Elliot

I hope this encourages you today! I hope its yet another reminder that your worth is in Christ, and nothing can ever, ever take away from that truth. Do you believe it?

Blessings on your week! Until next Tuesday… 🙂
