Oh my goodness, I can’t believe I almost missed my blog’s first birthday!
It has been such a busy weekend for me. On Friday, my homeschool co-op, which my family is very involved in, started up, and it was a long, crazy day. Then, on Saturday, one of my good friends got married… which was an amazingly beautiful day, but also such a huge deal that I wasn’t thinking of my blog… π And then, on Sunday, we hosted church at our house… also kind of a busy day. π
And then I came onto my blog today and realized that this was my blog’s one year anniversary!
And I almost missed it!
Due to this catching me by surprise, but still having an awful lot to say to celebrate this special occasion, I’m going to do a series about my blog’s anniversary this whole week. So stay tuned! There’s much more to come this week. π
But for today, I’m going to tell you the story of how I started my blog.
It was late on a Sunday evening, probably about 9:00, one year ago today. My mom and sister were about to come home from their quick trip to Missouri for my great-grandpa’s funeral. My dad had gone to the airport, and, meanwhile, I had logged onto WordPress, where I created a blog, just to see what it was like. I was planning on deleting it directly afterward, but then I realized that as soon as you claimed a domain name, it was yours. And if you deleted that domain, it was gone forever. So, when my mom and dad and sister got home, I casually mentioned the idea to them (not mentioning that I’d already claimed my domain) and they thought it was a great idea, and that’s how my blog started.
I didn’t write my first post until three days later, on September 21st. You can read it here.
And the rest is history!
I have so much more to say about my blog’s anniversary (I refuse to call it a “blogiversary” π ), but you’ll just have to stay tuned this whole week to read the rest.
I’ll be posting (nearly) every day until Sunday. Because this is such a rare occurrence, it’s also a great time to refer my blog to a friend or share it through some sort of social media. Birthdays only come one a year, right? πΒ

So, stay tuned for the rest of the week, and share with your friends! Until tomorrow… π
Happy blogiversary!!! That’s such a big deal! I almost forgot my first blogiversary, as well – I posted a day late that year. π I love the story as to how your blog was created; it definitely sounds like something I would do. I cannot wait for the rest of your posts this week! A HUGE congrats!
(I used your link thingy to share on Facebook, so other people can enjoy your blog just as much as I do. π )
